Danville Patriots Schedule “We The People” Meeting For October 10th

Danville, VA – “We, the people” will meet at the Danville Courthouse Plaza on Patton Street, October 10th, 2009 at 1 p.m. to exercise the right to assemble and discuss the state of America.

Michael Del Rosso from the Clairemont Institute will speak about the condition of America and will define the many threats we face as a nation.

Also speaking at the event will be Virgil Goode, Danny Marshall,Robert Hurt, Herschel Stone, Michael Ernette, Laurence Verga, Feda Morton and Sheriff Mike Mondul.

Aaron Evans Launching Voter Registration Drive In Southside Virginia’s Church Community

Aaron Evans will be working over the next several weeks to encourage and assist Pastors in voter registration drives among the Christian community.

Regarding the effort, Aaron stated: “It is imperative that Christians are good stewards with the liberties that we enjoy in America.  Any Christian  not  involved in the elective process is displaying contempt for our freedoms and a refusal to be a good steward with what God has given us in this nation. Statistics show half of America’s Christians are not registered to vote and only half of those actually go to the polls and cast their vote. This is unacceptable, we owe it to the next generation to be involved and vocal about our freedoms through the liberty of the voting process. Scriptural principals demand it and our civic duty demands it, it is time that we as Christians awaken from our apathy and get involved in our nation.”

Aaron is challenging Pastors to deliver a sermon on the importance of Christians being good stewards with liberty and active participants in the voting process. All efforts in this operation are non-partisan and are not encouraging people to vote for any particular candidate, but rather to vote as Christians, on their principles, and stand for liberty.

The True Problem With America

The true problem with America today is not entirely the Democrats nor the Republicans. It is not the extreme left nor the activists on the right. The problem with America today lies in the laps of the populace that does not care enough to get involved.

America does not work without involvement from the people. We like to place the blame for our current economic struggles on the party lines and failing politicians, however these men and women that are destroying our nation would not be in office if not for the apathy and carelessness of voters across the country.

It is time for us to  awaken and accept the blame for the downward slide of this nation and take ownership of our country. May we awaken from our slumber and stand as patriots for truth and freedom. Stand On Your Values

We are living in a day where it is unpopular to speak anything which goes against the grains of society or is deemed politically incorrect. We can see this displayed throughout the year and every American feels this pressure to surrender to political correctness from time to time.

The danger we are facing with this in America is that no one truly is saying what they believe in their heart. Do we as Americans even truly know what we believe in our hearts anymore? Have we gotten to a point in society where we just accept the mainstream philosophy as correct and move on?

We must dig down deeply and determine why we believe what we do, figure it out, and stand on it. As Aaron Tippin’s hit country music song stated several years back, “If You Don’t Stand For Something, You Will Fall For Anything”. There are definitely some fundamental values that are worth standing firmly for. However, due to political correctness, we do not desire to make any waves nor be ridiculed so we remain silent. What kind of an America would we be living in today if men such as John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Patrick Henry had remained silent so they would not be inconvenienced and could remain popular with those loyal to the King ?

In a day where compromise is popular, political correctness is expected, and our freedoms are being systematically stripped away, we must stand on the principles and values that we hold dear. I challenge us all to stand with boldness for our principles, regardless of the opposition. There are simply some things worth standing for and if we are not careful we will forfeit the greatest liberty of all in America, the liberty to be a voice for the values and prnciples that have made our nation great.

May we be bold, stand firm, and keep the torch of liberty ablaze for the next generation!
